Serbs are the largest ethnic group, constituting 63 percent of the population in 1991, followed by Albanians (17 percent), Montenegrins (5 percent), Yugoslavs (3 percent), Hungarians (3 percent), and Muslims (3 percent). Serbia’s population is nearly 16 times greater than that of Montenegro: 10,003,309 to 673,981 (2001).
